"I would like to take this opportunity to thank you for the kind and loving generosity in funding my education. I had two children when I was very young, and growing up in an already poor household, this put further stress on my parents. I was one of the lucky few that managed to finish school despite this, and then I started a computer course, but had to drop out to find a job because financial strains were so big. Over the years the LDS missionaries found me and I became a member of the LDS Church. A few years after that I was introduced to BEF, and my story has a brighter future.

"I just recently got married, but then shortly after I lost the job I had as a domestic worker (maid) and it made me realize how important it is to be self reliant. I am motivated to get a qualification so that my job prospects will become better. I am currently studying Business and Office Management, and the knowledge I get from school is inspiring me to start my own business. I love children, and in my township neighbourhood there are always kids playing soccer in the dusty streets, and I thought 'Why not buy chips and sweets and re-sell them to the children as a business!'. They love it and I enjoy it.

"My studies are already shaping my future! Thank you once again for the BEF Scholarship, if I didn’t receive it, I honestly don't know what I could have done to further my education.

"I now have hope for a bright future!"
